Fitment

Every kit is built for one bike. Brand, model, and year, selected by you when you order.

Wrong-year orders are the most common problem in this category. Most of them come from two mistakes, and both are easy to avoid.

Where to find your year

Your model year is not always the year you bought the bike. A bike purchased in the spring is often the previous model year, and a bike bought used has whatever year the title says regardless of when it changed hands.

The model year is on the VIN plate, usually stamped on the steering head. The tenth character of the VIN is the model year code. If the bike is titled, the title lists it directly.

Use that number, not the year you took delivery.

Check your exact model

The second mistake is close model names. Manufacturers run several bikes under nearly identical badging and the plastics are not interchangeable between them.

Four-stroke and two-stroke versions of the same displacement are different bikes with different panels. Cross-country and enduro variants often differ from the motocross model. The name on the side panel is the one that matters, and if the graphics on the bike now are aftermarket, the badge may not be accurate.

If you are unsure, send us the VIN.

What we build

You select brand, model, and year. The kit is built from the design file for that specific bike and mounted on panels for that specific bike.

Plastics often carry across several model years without changing shape, which is why your kit may use the same panel as a bike a year or two older or newer. That is normal. The fit is the same. We still build against the year you give us, because that is what determines which panel we order.

Brands we cover

Honda, Yamaha, KTM, Husqvarna, Kawasaki, and Suzuki.

Coverage within each brand runs across current models and expands based on what riders ask for. If your bike is not in the list, email the year, make, and model and we will tell you honestly whether we can build it and when.

Confirming before we build

After you order, a proof goes out within one business day. It shows exactly what we are building, including the bike it is being built for.

Read the bike line first. That is the part worth checking twice.

If you catch a mistake

Before you approve the proof, reply and we correct it at no cost. Nothing has been ordered or cut yet.

After you approve the proof, production starts. Your name and number are on the panels and the kit cannot go to anyone else, so a wrong-fitment order at that stage has to be rebuilt. We will tell you what that costs before doing anything.

What fitment does not cover

The guarantee covers the quality of the mount, not a bike selection error. Those are two different things and they are handled differently.

If the mount is wrong, that is ours. Full terms are on [The Preset Guarantee].
